Heart problems?

How's your Heart? How often do you focus on having a healthy heart? Whether it's the physical heart beating in your chest or the spiritual one that gets suffocated in self and longs for
more of God, we tend to give them limited attention. We tend to focus on the surface. How many made a new years resolution to get a healthy heart? OK, maybe the guy who just had the quadruple bypass.

Jesus pinpoints this in this passage. God sees many people who talk a good walk, but the walk part..... Not so much. We follow the order of the day, we get in step with the Christian culture, we live to keep up with what others say is "really living", we do enough to keep up appearances, and we keep the rules, well most of them. But have we neglected knowing Jesus? Are we pursuing relationship? Do we talk to Him? Do we listen? Does He even have the opportunity to get our attention? When? When and how do we give him that time? Is my heart far from him? Is yours?

Read back through this chapter and in the midst of headliners about miracles take notice of what Jesus says about the heart. Take notice of what he is really after? He's not concerned about what enters our stomachs, but instead, what we allowing to enter our hearts and in light of that, what is coming out of our hearts. That's the heart of the issue.
