The stunning reaction of the unclean spirits, "you are the son of God", reminds us that our God awareness often falls below that of the unclean spirits. May we be more aware of his power and presence and realize he has won for us.
This is also a good reminder of the fact that those demons initial choice to follow Lucifer was now holding them in bondage,unable to change their allegiances.
How great to have been shown
God's eye opening grace and to live free from a forced allegiance to sin and Satan.

.....And unbelieving family.... Sometimes those who should be the closest, understand the least. Ouch!
So the often questioned " blasphemy of the Holy Spirit" question arises. From this text it is identifying and regarding the Savoir as as demonic rather than deity. What a strange twist of events in this chapter: first demons see Jesus as the "Son of God" and then those who "know" him best see Him as a demon.
